5 quilts from Making A Lather

It's time for me to plan the week and assess how I have done on my goals.  I have 5 quilts I am focusing on right now. I try to work on one task for each quilt at a time working through all five before moving on to the next set of tasks.

1.checkered past -The next step was to make 40 sashings. I sewed 1 1/2 inch creams to 1 1/2 inch shirt strips on the treadle. I pressed and subcut them to the size of the block. tada

But, then, I couldn't help ...

tiny orange scraps from Making A Lather

I had one lonely aqua 16 patch color block from last month for the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy.

then, I worked on 4 psp 20 blocks in this month's color - orange. I am amazed at how many different oranges there are, but, I was also surprised how few oranges of any size, I have left in the scrap bins.

My Friday group has started making Boho heart by Jen Kingwell. I am doing it in rainbow colors. Part of the fun of a group project is seeing how different all of our hearts will be when finished ...

a few tiny houses from Making A Lather

I can't believe this all I have ready for the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy this week.

tiny houses in a square

I did get the purple semi colons done for the full stop quilt that Angela is doing.

I have been working on sea swept and quilting ode to Joey. And the garden is in need of attention. We have tomatoes to can. We are dehydrating some, but, I will need to can.  I did "harvest" some elderberries from our woods and near our church. It takes a lot to make even a tincture. So, I press ...

quilt top ready from Making A Lather

In an effort to make it longer than wider, I added wonky stars to the top and bottom of my ode to Joey quilt, and, now, it is a top. I have a large flannel  wide back for the back and a multicolored binding sewn together. I made this for the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy. And, now, it lives in the "to be quilted" closet annex.  I have a 'sleep in your own bed" retreat this weekend. I haven't even decided what I am taking to work on while I am there. I have a Christmas quilt ...

a little here and there from Making A Lather

I have made some progress on some of my projects.

I cut some more hsts for go fish leader/ender challenge from quiltville.

I made another block for the wedding ring or cross and crown blocks. I sorted through what I had cut and made sets. I should be able to grab a set and sew a block when time permits.

I realized I  hadn't looked at the shirt anvil blocks in a while. I sewed some hsts together in sets, so that, when I have the time, I can just sew the blocks.

And I found the one ...

waffle progress from Making A Lather

I have just a few more waffle stamp blocks. After my daughter and her family left for her home so very far away, I sewed some random blocks to keep from tears. It really didn't work. But, I made a little progress

I just realize that I have to start the upper right block of each block in the same direction for the waffle stamp blocks. sigh...

on the go top from Making A Lather

this past week I started working on an older ufo - on the go. It was a kit I bought in 2014 for a donation quilt. It is bright and colorful and easy. I added the outside borders this morning. It was raining or I would have a better picture. I have fabric for the binding, but, I will need to find a suitable backing in my stash. Then, it will live with the other quilts waiting to be quilted.

My radishes are ready for harvesting. I picked a mild radish, and, it is too hot for me. Good thing the ...

quilt waffles from Making A Lather

We have felt the aftermath of the tropical storm elsa here in Indiana. Lots of rain and mild winds hit yesterday, and, it looks like more rain today. The garden is happy, the gardener not so much.

coreopsis -good for disinfection and metabolic disorders and it is pretty

It is always a pleasure when the quilt is off the floor at the longarm. I am making progress on aunt eliza's star. It is a big quilt. I am doing swirls, nothing fancy.

I have a few waffle blocks left to make. I need to make more pieced rows for ...

progress from Making A Lather

This seems like a small accomplishment for my sea swept quilt, but, I have made a decision to cut new blocks for the sashings and trim down to the right size. These 2 blocks were made using the exact measurements. They are not bad but a little small. I need 56 of these blocks for the quilt I am making.

Our guild had an open sew and charity quilt workshop Saturday. I took my accuquilt and tumbler die for cutting through donation fabrics. Somehow my die was broken and we had to suspend the cutting. sigh... I've never had ...
